The Latest Around Hollywood

This is one of my blog posts in which I have no certain topic to talk about so please bear with me on all random things that you might encounter while reading this article. Anyway, The Interview, despite showing in only 331 theaters across the US, has earned $1 million dollars during its first day. Well, that is good news and I'm not surprised about it because of the controversy that surrounds the movie for the past two weeks. At the same time, North Korea has officially released a statement regarding the movie and they accused the US government and President Obama as the one who pushed the movie to be released and they called Obama "a monkey'. To be fair, Obama said that pulling the movie is a mistake last week but it doesn't mean that the US government is behind the decision of releasing the movie again. All movies in the US are not controlled by the government and they are all produced via the First Amendment. North Korea is so stupid that they blame the government for it. Of course, there is no freedom of speech in North Korea and everything is controlled by the government so they assumed that the US government did the movie. North Korea just wants to blame the US for everything. Also, I have downloaded the movie and I'm scheduled to watch the movie when I have free time before New Year's Day. I have scanned the movie and it looks like it is going to be a good movie and North Korea made fun of US at the beginning of the movie. I might make a movie review about it in this blog so watch out for that. Anyway, let us all enjoy and be positive about The Interview because it is patriotic for Americans to watch the movie and also to the rest of the world.

Anyway, in television news, Oscar nominee and BAFTA winner Barkhad Abdi (known for his role of Abduwali Muse in Captain Phillips) will guest star on the hit CBS series Hawaii Five-0. It is a great and exciting news even though I don't watch the show. I've been watching Barkhad Abdi since the Oscars as I want to know the future of his career after his breakout role. He has two upcoming films: a comedy film directed by Judd Apatow and an action film starring Helen Mirren and Aaron Paul. He has supporting role in both movies and it looks like he has important role in those films. Hawaii Five-0 will be Abdi's television debut and he will play a former African warlord who is hiding somewhere in the island of Hawaii as a taxi driver. I would love to see that episode. I'm sure that Abdi would be just fine. The last news from Hollywood that I'm going to talk about is the banning of the Ridley Scott film Exodus: Gods and Kings. The movie received negative reviews and it has a possibility to become a box office flop as it hasn't recoup its budget yet. The movie is banned in Egypt and Morocco due to its historical inaccuracies and a possibility to be banned also in several Middle Eastern countries due to similar reasons. I have no plans to watch the movie because it doesn't look promising and it is too 21st century and action packed that it's not as good as Gladiator but as horrible as those Michael Bay films. Also, it is directed by Ridley Scott and he should have made it better (By the way, Gladiator was also directed by Ridley Scott). Anyway, I don't care about the banning of the movie anymore because I'm not interested to watch it anyway and I'm just going to focus on The Interview which I think is way better.
